George Harrison

George Harrison, born on February 25, 1943, in Liverpool, England, was a profoundly influential musician, known primarily as the lead guitarist of the legendary rock band the Beatles. His innovative work with the band during the 1960s helped to transform the landscape of popular music, as he contributed to the fusion of Western rock with Eastern music, notably through the incorporation of the sitar on tracks like "Norwegian Wood (This Bird Has Flown)." After the Beatles disbanded in 1970, Harrison embarked on a successful solo career, marked by the critically acclaimed triple album "All Things Must Pass," featuring the perennial hit "My Sweet Lord."

Throughout his career, Harrison's work showcased his spirituality, songwriting talents, and distinctive guitar style. His solo discography reveals continued musical evolution spanning different genres, from rock to pop to devotional music. Albums such as "Cloud Nine" and "Brainwashed," which was released posthumously in 2002, have cemented Harrison's reputation as a versatile and soulful artist. Beyond music, Harrison organized the Concert for Bangladesh, one of the first major charity concerts. He passed away on November 29, 2001, but his legacy as a musician and a humanitarian continues to inspire. Although the 2020 mix of "All Things Must Pass" is a recent release, it's a remastered version of his 1970 album that reacquaints audiences with his timeless music and the depth of his artistic vision.
