Tera Ferna

Tera Ferna is a rock and soul band rooted in San Antonio, Texas, that started back in 2011 as the solo project of lead singer and guitarist Matthew Charles. The project evolved into a full band with the addition of Brandon Kent on bass, James Perez on guitar, and drummer Anthony Washington by 2012. The band’s name was inspired by a small street near Charles’ family home, and it reflects a concept of "new ground" — combining Latin and Native American roots to symbolize fresh, fertile creative space. Their sound is a dynamic blend of their diverse musical backgrounds, merging rock with soul influences to create something fresh and lively. Over time, they've carved out their niche in the Texas music scene, striving to keep their music evolving beyond strict genre boundaries, with plans to collaborate across styles including hip hop and techno.
