Jimin Oh-Havenith is a talented pianist born in Seoul, South Korea. She began her piano studies with Jin-Woo Chung at the Seoul National University and later continued under Aloys Kontarsky at the Musikhochschule Köln from 1981 to 1984. Oh-Havenith is known for her warm sound and strong rhythmic structure, which brings music to life with richness and clarity. She has performed as a soloist and in radio and CD recordings, including collaborations with her late husband Raymund Havenith. After a period of focusing on teaching at institutions like the Hochschule für Musik Mainz and the Hochschule für Musik und Darstellende Kunst Frankfurt am Main, she resumed her solo career in 2013.
Oh-Havenith has recently gained recognition for her recordings, particularly a series of Robert Schumann's works released by audite, which have received critical acclaim for capturing the composer's unique expression. Her recent albums often feature a variety of classical masterpieces, showcasing her depth and versatility as a pianist.
