Mike V

Mike Vallely, known as Mike V, is an American professional skateboarder and musician who has made significant contributions to both skateboarding and punk rock. Born in 1970, he rose to fame as a pro skater in the late 1980s and has been a prominent figure in the skateboarding world ever since. Beyond skating, Mike V is well known as the lead vocalist of the iconic hardcore punk band Black Flag from 2013 to 2025, becoming the band's second-longest-serving member. His musical journey also includes fronting the punk band Mike V and the Rats, known for their Black Flag-influenced hardcore punk sound. Throughout his career, Mike V has blended his passions for skateboarding and punk rock, often reflecting the intensity and life-affirming spirit that first drew him to the punk scene.

In addition to performing, Mike Vallely founded Street Plant Skateboards with his wife Ann, further cementing his influence within skateboarding culture.
