Grave Pleasures

Grave Pleasures is a Finnish post-punk band that has carved a unique niche within the landscape of dark alternative music since their formation. Originating from the ashes of the underground band Beastmilk, which disbanded in 2015, key members Mat McNerney (vocals) and Juho Vanhanen (guitars) alongside new lineup additions began a fresh journey under the moniker Grave Pleasures. With a sound that marries the raw energy of punk with the morose melodies of gothic rock, Grave Pleasures has managed to capture the attention of fans who are drawn to their vibrant, apocalyptic ruminations.

Riding on the waves of their critically acclaimed debut album "Dreamcrash" (2015), Grave Pleasures solidified their reputation with the release of the full-throttle sophomore album "Motherblood" in 2017. Songs like "Infatuation Overkill" and "Be My Hiroshima" exemplify the band's blend of infectious hooks with dark, urgent themes, while "Joy Through Death" epitomizes their fascination with the macabre. The band’s electrifying live performances are captured in the visceral recording of "Doomsday Roadburn (Live At Roadburn Festival 2018)" showcasing their prowess on stage. With a prolific output and a poetic confrontation with the shadows of existence, the band continues to explore themes of collapse and renewal, gaining a devoted following in the process.
