Hikari Fukuda

Hikari Fukuda is a renowned Japanese pianist born in 1967 in Tsuyama, Okayama. She graduated from the Kunitachi College of Music and furthered her studies in musicology at Tokyo Gakugei University and Tokyo University of the Arts. Fukuda has been particularly noted for her interpretations of J.S. Bach's keyboard works, having performed extensive cycles of his compositions from 2005 to 2014. Her performances include notable appearances at the Tsuyama International All-Round Music Festival and collaborations with orchestras and other musicians. Recently, she has released albums such as *J.S. Bach: Goldberg Variations* and *J.S. Bach: Inventions and Sinfonias*, which have received critical acclaim.

In addition to her concert career, Fukuda is dedicated to teaching and has led popular seminars on Bach's music. She is also involved in research on historical temperaments and period instruments, often presenting these topics through concerts and workshops. Her work has been featured in publications like *Musica Nova*, where she wrote a series on making Bach's inventions more enjoyable to teach and play. Fukuda is a member of the National Piano Teachers' Association of Japan (PTNA), reflecting her commitment to both performance and education.
