**Tarantula Garganica** is a folk group from Monte Sant’Angelo in Italy’s Gargano region, formed in 2002 to revive and promote traditional Apulian music, poetry, and dance. Named after the tarantella rhythm and their Gargano roots, they blend chitarra battente, castagnole (castanets), and regional melodies, often collaborating with local legends like Antonio Piccininno. Their albums, including *Chi non capisce l’amore abbastanza* (2006), pay tribute to Gargano musicians like Andrea Sacco and Matteo Salvatore, while international tours have taken their vibrant performances to cities like Barcelona, London, and Vancouver.
Led by Peppe Totaro, the group expanded its reach through projects like *Raduno dei Suonatori di Tarantella*, fostering local music collectives, and collaborative albums such as *All’use Antiche* (2008) with I Cantori di Monte Sant’Angelo. Their work captures the Gargano’s cultural essence—love ballads, rhythmic tarantellas, and poetry—bridging tradition with global world music audiences.
