Chaz Underriner is a Texas-born composer, guitarist, and intermedia artist based in DeLand, Florida, whose work focuses on experimental music that explores landscape and portraiture through a blend of video projections, audio recordings, and live performance. His music has been described as “quietly radiant in animated stasis” and has been featured at numerous international festivals and venues, including Gaudeamus, the Los Angeles Philharmonic National Composer’s Intensive, and the Moscow State Philharmonic Society. Chaz’s diverse output includes compositions for solo instruments, chamber ensembles, orchestras, electronics, film, and choir, and his recordings are released on respected labels like Edition Wandelweiser Records and New World Records.
In addition to his artistic career, Chaz is an Associate Professor of Digital Arts at Stetson University and was selected as a 2023-2024 Fulbright Scholar to Vienna, where he expanded his creative work through international collaboration.
