The Afghan Whigs are an American rock band formed in Cincinnati, Ohio, in 1986. Led by singer-songwriter Greg Dulli, the band is known for its dark, brooding sound and introspective lyrics. After releasing a series of critically acclaimed albums in the 1990s, including "Gentlemen" and "Black Love," the band went on hiatus in 2001. They reunited in 2012 and have since released two more albums, "Do to the Beast" and "In Spades." The Afghan Whigs are considered one of the most influential alternative rock bands of the 1990s, and their music continues to be praised for its emotional depth and sonic experimentation.
