Stéphanie de Failly

Stéphanie de Failly is a Belgian violinist born in Bruges, who began her violin studies at the age of four. She pursued her musical education, obtaining a Higher Diploma at the Brussels Royal Conservatory and further studying with notable musicians in Amsterdam. Stéphanie is particularly known for her specialization in baroque music and, in 2001, she founded the ensemble **Clematis**. This ensemble focuses on exploring the lesser-known repertoire of the 17th century, ranging from Italian, German, and French works to lesser-known Dutch composers.

As a member of various ensembles, including Clematis and Cappella Mediterranea, Stéphanie de Failly has been involved in numerous musical projects. One of her notable recordings includes the *Chaconne* by Tomaso Vitali, performed using the original manuscript to maintain the Baroque authenticity. Her recent releases include contributions to albums such as *David Pohle: Complete Sonatas & Ballet Music* and *Vitali: Ciaconna*. Her work with Clematis has taken her to perform globally in countries like France, Italy, and Israel.
