E-Sassin

E-Sassin, whose real name is Eric Hull, is a renowned DJ and producer from Los Angeles. He began his musical journey in the late 1970s as a drummer in progressive rock and jazz/fusion bands, later transitioning through the heavy metal scene of the 1980s. In 1989, he was introduced to the electronic dance music scene through techno and rave culture. This marked a pivotal moment, as he started producing dance music and eventually became one of the top drum and bass artists in America. By 1996, E-Sassin had fully immersed himself in drum and bass, founding Sound Sphere Recordings to promote his work and others in the genre, which was not widely recognized in the U.S. at the time. His label became a pioneering force for drum and bass on the west coast, earning respect globally.

Over the years, E-Sassin has collaborated with numerous artists and labels, including Gridlok, Hive, Phunckateck Crew, and Moving Shadow. He continues to produce and remix drum and bass music, maintaining a strong presence in the scene. E-Sassin is also part of the production duo Phobetor, which combines drum and bass with heavy metal elements. His work has been featured on various international labels, and he remains active in the music scene, often live-streaming on platforms like Twitch.
