Thilo's Combo

Thilo's Combo was a Portuguese musical ensemble formed in 1962 by Thilo Krasmann, a renowned composer and maestro of German origin. Thilo's Combo was initially a quintet that consisted of Thilo Krasmann on bass and vocals, José Luís Simões on electric guitar, Enrique Peiró Jr. on piano, Fernando Rueda on drums, and Vítor Santos on saxophone. Over the years, the band had several lineups, including the addition of Paulo de Carvalho and Jorginho on piano. They released numerous EPs and singles, collaborating with artists like Duo Ouro Negro, Paula Ribas, and Simone de Oliveira. The group's music often featured a blend of international styles with a Portuguese touch, which was typical of the 1960s music scene in Portugal.

Their discography includes popular tracks like "Garota De Ipanema," "Merci Chérie," and "Les Cornichons." Thilo's Combo concluded their active period in 1969. Thilo Krasmann went on to have a successful career in other aspects of music and television production, becoming a significant figure in Portuguese entertainment. Despite the band's relatively short run, their contributions to the lively music scene of the 1960s remain memorable.
