Dick Dale & His Del-Tones

Dick Dale & His Del-Tones were pioneers of the surf rock genre, led by the legendary guitarist Dick Dale, often hailed as the "King of the Surf Guitar." Bursting onto the music scene in the early 1960s, the band helped define the energetic, reverb-drenched sound that became synonymous with California beach culture. Their debut album, "Surfer’s Choice" (1962), featured the iconic track “Misirlou,” which famously resurfaced in the 1994 film "Pulp Fiction," introducing a whole new generation to Dale’s fiery playing style.

Known for his lightning-fast picking and use of Fender amplifiers turned up to the max, Dale's approach to the guitar was both groundbreaking and downright explosive. With albums like "King of the Surf Guitar" and "Mr. Eliminator," Dick Dale & His Del-Tones captured the raw energy of surfing with rock 'n' roll attitude, leaving a lasting legacy that continues to inspire musicians today.
