Naraka

**Naraka** is a French metal band formed in 2019 by guitarist Jean-Philippe Porteux. They blend modern metal and death metal with symphonic and some electronic touches, creating a powerful, dramatic sound that draws comparisons to bands like Septicflesh. Their debut album, *In Tenebris* (2021), was produced by Logan Mader and includes guest vocals from Veronica Bordachinni (Fleshgod Apocalypse) and Lindsay Schoolcraft (ex-Cradle of Filth). Naraka quickly gained recognition in the European extreme metal scene, supporting major acts such as Cradle of Filth, Alcest, and Nile on tours.

The band features experienced musicians including ex-Dagoba drummer Franky Costanza and vocalist Théodore Rondeau. Their mix of symphonic elements and intense metal instrumentation, along with their second album *Born in Darkness* (2025), positions Naraka as a rising force in modern metal from France. They continue to build momentum with strong releases and live shows supporting bands like Nervosa and Loudblast.
