Laurent Maur

Laurent Maur is a French jazz chromatic harmonica player known for his distinct and versatile style. Born in Paris in 1970, Maur began his musical journey at 18, initially playing blues and rock with various bands. He later shifted his focus to jazz, studying at the Conservatoire International de Musique (C.I.M) in Paris. This transition was influenced by jazz legends like Toots Thielemans, and he went on to win the International Harmonica Competition in Trossingen, Germany. Maur has released several albums, including "La dernière danse," and has collaborated with numerous artists, both in France and internationally, including his work with the Youpi Quartet. He is also recognized for experimenting with modern harmonicas, such as the DM48 midi chromatic harmonica.

Maur's musical career spans extensive touring across Asia, including countries like China, South Korea, and Taiwan. He has also performed in European festivals and venues. His recent collaborations highlight a blend of jazz and other genres, often featuring duets with other instrumentalists like flutists.
