Hans-Peter Pfammatter is a Swiss jazz pianist and composer born in 1974 in Sierre, Switzerland. He began playing the trumpet as a child but switched to piano at the age of thirteen. Pfammatter studied at the Jazz School of Lucerne from 1995 to 1999 and has been involved in various musical projects, including playing with notable artists like Christy Doran, Bänz Oester, and Werner Hasler. He was a member of Christy Doran's group *New Bag* from 2001 to 2012 and co-founded the group *Scope*, which released the album *Nu Gara* in 2007. Pfammatter also composes music for theater, short films, and radio plays, and has been teaching jazz piano at the Lucerne University of Applied Sciences and Arts since 2000.
Pfammatter's diverse musical engagements include collaborations with numerous jazz and experimental ensembles. His work spans multiple genres, from jazz to experimental music, and he has released several albums with different groups. Some of his notable works include albums with *New Bag* and *Scope*, as well as collaborations with other artists.
