**Dougie Conscious**, aka Dougie Wardrop, is a legendary UK dub and roots producer who's been shaping the scene since the late '80s. He kicked things off running Dub Shack Records at Camden Lock Market in 1988, then dove into production with his first dub track "Stepping Time" on a 4-track at Nick Manasseh's place, releasing it in 1990 under the name Century—which launched his Conscious Sounds label.
From there, he formed Bush Chemists in the early '90s with Chazbo and Culture Freeman, dropping killer albums like *Dubs from Zion Valley* and collaborating with vocalists such as Kenny Knots, King General, and Jonah Dan. Still going strong from his London studio, Dougie's kept the UK dub fire alive with versatile riddims, steppers vibes, and recent joints like those on Snake Charmer and Nah Retreat, filling the gap when Jamaican reggae slowed down.
