The Gruesomes

Formed in 1985 in Montreal, Canada, The Gruesomes are an iconic garage punk band notorious for their spooky aesthetics, which draw heavily from the horror and science fiction culture of the 1960s. Comprising members Bobby Beaton (guitar, vocals), John Davis (guitar), Gruesome Garry Miller (bass), and Eric Davis (drums), the band is known for their frenetic live shows and a raw, vintage sound that channels the essence of the garage rock revival.

After capturing the hearts of underground music aficionados with their gritty guitar riffs and catchy hooks, The Gruesomes quickly established themselves in the indie scene with a string of albums starting with "Tyrants of Teen Trash" (1986), followed by the celebrated "Gruesomania" (1987). They continued to incite excitement with subsequent releases like "Hey!" (1988), "Cave-In!" (1990) before an untimely hiatus. Stirring from their crypt in the early 2000s, The Gruesomes made a triumphant return from the dead with "Cave-In!" reissues and live performances, culminating in the release of "Live in Hell" (2014), a testament to their enduring impact on the garage punk landscape. Their music remains a staple for those with a craving for nostalgic, horror-infused rock 'n' roll.
