Hijas del Sol

Hijas del Sol is a vibrant musical duo from Equatorial Guinea, blending Afro-Latin rhythms with soulful harmonies to celebrate their cultural roots. Formed by Piruchi Apo Botupá and her niece Paloma del Sol, their music fuses traditional Fang influences, Spanish lyrical flair, and infectious grooves that span genres like salsa, pop, and worldbeat. Known for uplifting tracks like *Vivir Esta Locura* and *Pasaporte Mundial*, their work often highlights themes of love, unity, and pride in their West African heritage.

With releases like *Kottó* and *Kchaba*, the duo has become a symbol of Equatorial Guinea’s rich artistic legacy, earning acclaim for their dynamic performances and cross-cultural appeal. Their 1995 album *Kottó* even snagged a spot on Putumayo’s *African Odyssey* compilation, introducing global audiences to their sunny, soul-stirring sound.
