Tomáš Hanzlík

Tomáš Hanzlík is a multifaceted artist known for his work as a composer and musicologist. Born in 1972, he is the artistic director of the Damian Ensemble and the impresario of his own traveling theatre company, Theatrum Schrattenbach. Hanzlík graduated in musicology and music pedagogy from Palacký University in Olomouc. He has been involved in various musical projects, including the direction of the music festival BAROKO in Olomouc since 1998. His compositions include notable works such as "Lacrimae Alexandri Magni" (The Tears of Alexander the Great), which premiered at Prague's Estates Theater in 2007. Hanzlík's work often blends historical and contemporary elements, reflecting his interest in both old music and contemporary minimalist composers.
