Disharmonic Orchestra

Disharmonic Orchestra is an avant-garde death metal band that emerged from the vibrant extreme music scene of Austria in the late 1980s. With a distinctive blend of dissonant structures, experimental inclinations, and a touch of dark humor, they quickly garnered attention within the underground metal community. The band was founded by Patrick Klopf, Harald Bezdek, and Martin Messner, who sought to push the boundaries of traditional metal music by incorporating elements of noise, industrial, and even jazz into their sound.

Since their debut, Disharmonic Orchestra has released a number of albums that showcase their evolving style. After their initial full-length, "Expositionsprophylaxe," which was released in 1990 and later re-mastered, the band continued to explore the complex and unconventional with albums like "Not to Be Undimensional Conscious" (1992) and the rhythmic intricacies of "Pleasuredome" (1994). Following a hiatus, they returned with the futuristic and cerebral "Ahead" (2002), demonstrating their ability to adapt and grow without sacrificing the core dissonance that defines their music. The 2016 release "Fear of Angst" marked a continuation of their foray into uncharted musical territories, blending aggression with melody in unexpected ways. Their live performances, captured in releases such as "Raw (Live)", provide an energized and visceral experience of their complex compositions, a testament to the band's relentless pursuit of musical disharmony and innovation.
