Ignaz Pleyel was an Austrian composer and piano manufacturer born in 1757. He studied with Joseph Haydn and became a successful composer, writing over 40 symphonies, 70 string quartets, and numerous other works. Pleyel also founded a piano manufacturing company that became one of the most famous in the world. He died in 1831, leaving behind a legacy of beautiful music and innovative piano designs.
