Dmytro Choni

Dmytro Choni is a renowned Ukrainian pianist, celebrated for his exceptional technical skill and expressive playing. Born in 1993 in Kiev, Ukraine, he started piano lessons at the age of four with Galina Zaslavets and later studied with Nina Naiditch and Prof. Yuri Kot in Kyiv. He continued his education at the University of Music and Performing Arts in Graz under Prof. Dr. Milana Chernyavska. Dmytro Choni has gained international acclaim by winning several prestigious piano competitions, including the Van Cliburn (2022), Leeds (2021), and Paloma O'Shea Santander (2018) competitions. He has performed with notable orchestras like the Royal Liverpool Philharmonic and the Fort Worth Symphony Orchestra, and appeared at prominent festivals such as the Verbier Festival and the Beethovenfest Bonn.

Choni's musical achievements also include a debut album released by Naxos in 2020, featuring works by Debussy, Ginastera, Ligeti, and Prokofiev, which received critical acclaim. His recent repertoire includes compositions by Silvestrov and Liebermann, showcasing his versatility in contemporary piano music. Currently residing in Vienna, Dmytro Choni continues to tour globally, performing in some of the world's most esteemed concert halls. His dedication to chamber music is also notable, collaborating with various ensembles and artists across Europe.
