Chicken Shack

Chicken Shack is a British blues band, primarily known for their contribution to the blues scene during the late 1960s and early 1970s. Founded in 1965 by Stan Webb, who is a key figure in the band's long-standing success with his impressive guitar skills and vocal style, Chicken Shack gained notice within the burgeoning British blues movement. The band was originally signed with the Blue Horizon label, through which they released their first album, "40 Blue Fingers, Freshly Packed and Ready to Serve", that quickly established their presence in the music industry.

Throughout their career, Chicken Shack underwent numerous lineup changes, but Webb's leadership remained constant. The band is recognized for its authentic blues sound, drawing on the influences of American blues legends and combining them with the unique British blues-rock energy of the era. Their most noted period came during the late 60s and early 70s with albums like "O.K. Ken?" and "100 Ton Chicken", which are emblematic of their gritty and soulful style. The band also provided a platform for the early career of Christine Perfect (later known as Christine McVie of Fleetwood Mac fame), who added a distinct keyboard and vocal element to Chicken Shack's music before moving on to her future endeavors. Over the years, they have maintained a loyal fan base through releases such as "Imagination Lady" and "The Complete Blue Horizon Sessions", with Webb's guitar prowess being a significant draw for blues aficionados.
