Non Canon

Non Canon is the indie folk project of Barry Dolan, a musician from Bristol, UK. It began as a side project distinct from his heavier band Oxygen Thief, allowing Dolan to explore more intimate, poetic songwriting with layered instrumentation and a mellower sound. Non Canon released the self-titled debut album in 2016 on Xtra Mile Recordings and has continued to develop a personal and precise lyrical style that blends acoustic guitar with wider musical textures. Dolan’s work as Non Canon is often compared to artists like Roddy Woomble and Tim Kasher, highlighting its indie folk sensibility and emotional depth.
