Rhoda Scott is an American jazz organist, pianist, and singer. She is known for her soulful and funky style of playing, which has earned her a reputation as one of the greatest jazz organists of all time. Scott was born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, in 1938. She began playing the piano at an early age and later switched to the organ. In the 1960s, she moved to Paris, where she became a regular performer at the Blue Note club. She has since toured and recorded extensively throughout the world, and has collaborated with many of the biggest names in jazz, including Count Basie, Dizzy Gillespie, and Miles Davis.
