George Onslow was a French composer born in 1784. He is best known for his chamber music, particularly his string quintets. He was a prolific composer, writing over 300 works, including symphonies, concertos, operas, and chamber music. Onslow's music was highly regarded by his contemporaries, and he was a member of the French Academy of Fine Arts. He died in 1853.
