Idle Heirs

Idle Heirs is a two-piece band from the Kansas City area, featuring vocalist Sean Ingram, best known for his work in Coalesce, and producer Josh Barber. Formed out of a necessity to express previously unspoken feelings, Idle Heirs creates music that delves into the darker aspects of life with a focus on vulnerability and emotional depth. Their debut album, *Life Is Violence*, was released on Relapse Records and marks a significant departure from Ingram's previous work, showcasing a broader range of vocal styles. The album, which includes tracks like *Rare Bird* and *Pillow Talk*, explores themes of grief, existential thought, and the impact of paternal influence, all set against a backdrop of post-metal soundscapes .

Idle Heirs' creative process was marked by a sense of personal urgency and began as a private endeavor with no intention of public release. However, their passion and trust in each other transformed it into a fully realized project. Recording *Life Is Violence* at Ocean Sound Studio in Norway allowed them to work without external pressures, resulting in an album that is both deeply personal and sonically expansive .
