Northern Cree Singers

Northern Cree Singers are a legendary powwow and Round Dance group hailing from the Saddle Lake Cree Nation in Alberta, Canada. Formed in the early 1980s by brothers Randy and Earl Wood, the collective has become a powerhouse in Indigenous music, blending traditional Cree drumming and vocals with contemporary energy. Known for their electrifying live performances, they’ve released over 50 albums (including recent crowd-pleasers like *Dance Hard!* and *Honor the Eagle Feather*) that capture the heartbeat of powwow culture. Their music not only preserves ancestral traditions but also connects generations, earning them multiple Grammy nominations (including a historic nod for *Stay Red* in 2017). Whether recorded in-studio or live at events like the Lummi or Whiteriver gatherings, their songs celebrate resilience, community, and the raw joy of dance. Northern Cree remains a vital voice for Indigenous pride worldwide.
