Lambert Colson

Lambert Colson is a talented recorder and cornetto player known for his deep expertise in early music and his dynamic collaborations with top ensembles like Scherzi Musicali, Le Poème Harmonique, Pygmalion, and Collegium Vocale. Born in 1985, he studied at prestigious institutions such as the Koninklijk Conservatorium Brussel, Schola Cantorum Basiliensis, ESMUC Barcelona, and HFK Bremen, training with noted teachers like Francoise Defours and Bruce Dickey. Lambert leads his own ensemble, InAlto, which has received critical acclaim across Europe, earning awards like the Diapason d’Or and the Choc de Classica. Beyond performance, he is a dedicated educator teaching cornetto and ensemble music in Brussels and Geneva and pursuing doctoral research on the mute cornett in 17th-century Germany.

Known for his adventurous musical spirit, Lambert also embraces contemporary music projects and unusual collaborations, working with composers such as Zad Moultaka and Bernard Foccroulle, as well as artists from different genres like Shara Nova and members of the jazz scene. His broad interests extend into theatrical and hypnotic arts, reflecting a commitment to expanding the expressive possibilities of his instruments.
