Estevan Velardi

Estevan Velardi is a conductor known for his work with the Alessandro Stradella Consort, specializing in the music of the Baroque period, particularly that of Alessandro Stradella, Alessandro Melani, and Alessandro Scarlatti. He has conducted numerous performances and recordings of their works, including operas and cantatas. Velardi holds diplomas in singing, choral music, and choral direction, and he studied orchestral conducting with Ivan Bakàlov in Sofia, Bulgaria. He has also taught at the Conservatorio di Musica "N. Piccinni" in Bari, Italy. His recent releases include various volumes of Stradella's cantatas and serenatas, as well as works by Scarlatti.

Velardi's contributions to the revival of Baroque music are significant, with a focus on rediscovering and performing lesser-known works from the 17th and 18th centuries.
