Surface

Surface were a smooth R&B trio from New Jersey, made up of brothers David and Bernard Conley, along with childhood friend Thomas DeWese. They hit it big in the late '80s and early '90s with their sophisticated, romantic sound. Their biggest hit, "Shower Me With Your Love," topped the R&B charts and became a wedding staple. Other popular tracks include "Happy," "The First Time," and "Closer Than Friends." They were known for their polished production, David Conley's distinctive lead vocals, and their overall classy vibe.

While they released several albums throughout the '90s, they never quite replicated the massive success of "Shower Me With Your Love." However, their music remains a beloved example of the new jack swing era, and their influence can still be heard in contemporary R&B. Recent expanded editions of their self-titled debut and their sophomore album *2nd Wave* have brought their music to a new generation of listeners.
