Lou Monte, born Louis Scaglione, was an Italian-American singer and songwriter known for his novelty songs and Christmas tunes. His most famous hit, "Dominick the Donkey," became a holiday classic and has been covered by numerous artists. Monte's music often celebrated his Italian heritage, and he released several albums of Italian-themed songs. He also appeared in a few films and television shows, including "The Godfather Part II." Monte passed away in 2019 at the age of 92.
