The Seekers

The Seekers are an iconic Australian folk-influenced pop quartet whose melodious harmonies and captivating performances catapulted them to international fame in the 1960s. Formed in Melbourne in 1962, the group initially consisted of Athol Guy on double bass, Keith Potger on 12-string guitar, Bruce Woodley on guitar, and the distinguished lead vocals of Judith Durham. Their unique blend of folk, pop, and jazz elements, coupled with Durham's clear soprano voice, distinguished them in the vibrant music scene of the era.

The Seekers achieved global stardom with hits like "I'll Never Find Another You," "A World of Our Own," and the chart-topping "The Carnival Is Over." However, it was the release of "Georgy Girl" in 1966, which served as the title song for the British movie of the same name, that became their signature tune, reaching international audiences and sealing their place in music history. Throughout the years, The Seekers have released a substantial catalog of recordings, including live albums such as "The Seekers - Live In The UK" and retrospectives like "All Bound for Morningtown" that celebrate their EMI recordings between 1964 and 1968. After several reunions and farewell tours, their enduring appeal was evident in the release of "The Seekers - Farewell (Live)" and the compilation of rarities in "Hidden Treasures" volumes one and two, which delighted fans with previously unreleased material and deep cuts from the group's illustrious career.
