Arab On Radar

Arab On Radar was an American noise rock band that originated from Providence, Rhode Island, and was active primarily in the late 1990s and early 2000s. Known for their dissonant sound and confrontational live performances, the band was part of the burgeoning noise scene that included groups like The Locust and Lightning Bolt. Arab On Radar's music eschewed traditional melody for a more chaotic mesh of angular guitar riffs, pounding rhythms, and unsettling vocal delivery. They were a key fixture in the underground music community, where they cultivated a devoted following through relentless touring and a provocative aesthetic.

Their discography includes a series of raw and intense albums that exemplify their abrasive sound and subversive attitude. "Soak the Saddle" and "Yahweh or the Highway" represent the zenith of their studio output, displaying the band's ability to harness their chaotic live energy into recorded form. "Three Meals Away: The Yahweh Or The Highway Sessions" offers fans a glimpse into the band's recording process and features alternative versions and unreleased tracks from their seminal "Yahweh or the Highway" sessions. "Queen Hygiene II / Rough Day at the Orifice" and "Stolen Singles" further embodied their penchant for sonic experimentation and disdain for musical convention. Although Arab On Radar disbanded in 2002, their legacy endures, influencing a new generation of noise rock aficionados and experimental musicians.
