David Helm is a German jazz musician born in 1990 in Weilburg. He is known for his work on the double bass, as well as his skills on bass guitar, synthesizer, and composition. Helm studied classical piano at the Hochschule für Musik und Darstellende Kunst Frankfurt am Main before focusing on double bass at the Musikhochschule in Cologne. He has been a member of several notable bands, including Pollon, MAKKRO, and the Zoom Trio, and has collaborated with artists like Jürgen Friedrich and Shannon Barnett. His recent projects include the album *No-Eyed Deer* with Jozef Dumoulin and contributions to albums like *Fosterchild* and *Herb*. Additionally, Helm performs under the alias Marek Johnson in the pop genre.
