Spectral Lore

Spectral Lore is an avant-garde metal project, masterminded by the enigmatic Greek musician known by the pseudonym Ayloss. Since its inception in the early 2000s, Spectral Lore has been praised for its intricate blend of atmospheric black metal with progressive and ambient elements; a musical venture that explores themes of philosophy, spirituality, and the cosmos. Each release from Spectral Lore showcases a phenomenal depth of musicality – every album is not just a collection of songs, but a cohesive soundscape that invites listeners on an introspective journey.

Among Spectral Lore's recent outputs, "Eteròfotos" is a standalone EP released in 2021, exhibiting an immersion into atmospheric soundscapes and thematic elements of light. This followed the collaborative album "Wanderers: Astrology of The Nine" (2020), a monumental split with fellow atmospheric black metal act Mare Cognitum that delves into the realms of astrology and mythology attached to the planets of our solar system. "Gnosis" (2015) offered a more experimental take on black metal, interweaving traditional Greek music with dark ambient textures. "Sol" (2013) is a prime example of Spectral Lore's unique ability to combine acoustic folk elements with harsh black metal, all while embracing a profound narrative on solitude and self-reflection. The third full album, "III" (2014), represents a pinnacle of the project's work – a rich and dynamic masterpiece of atmospheric black metal that solidified Spectral Lore's standing as a unique and influential force within the black metal community and beyond.
