Cul De Sac

Cul de Sac are a Boston-based band known for their experimental and post-rock sounds, which often meld a wide array of genres, from electronic to folk to jazz. Formed in 1990 by guitarist Glenn Jones, their musical journey began with the desire to merge the raw energy of rock with the subtleties of more esoteric genres. Each album traverses a sonic landscape that can be viewed as both an homage to traditional music forms and a challenge to the boundaries that typically separate musical genres.

Their debut album "ECIM," released in 1991, introduced the group's genre-blending style, earning them critical acclaim within the underground music community. Through subsequent releases such as "China Gate" and "Death Of The Sun," Cul de Sac have continued to solidify their standing as innovators. Their unique soundscapes rely heavily on improvisation and the integration of unusual instruments, combined with the technical prowess and diverse influences of each member. The band's 2003 collaboration with guitarist John Fahey on "The Epiphany of Glenn Jones" underscores their ability to synchronize with similarly avant-garde artists, offering an organic, evolving portfolio that continues to garner a following among those with an appreciation for the avant-garde in music.
