Al Tall

Al Tall was a Spanish band renowned for playing a pivotal role in the Valencian folk music revival during the late 20th century. Formed in 1975 in Valencia, Spain, the group dedicated its music to the preservation and celebration of the Valencian culture, integrating traditional melodies and regional instruments, such as the dulzaina (a type of oboe) and tabal (a drum), with contemporary folk influences. Their lyrics often encompassed social and political themes, reflecting on the region's history, struggles, and identity.

Over the years, Al Tall developed a reputation for their spirited live performances and their committed efforts in resuscitating and promoting the folk music of the Valencian community. The band released numerous albums that captured the essence of their homeland's musical tradition, with titles like "Vergonya, Cavallers, Vergonya" and "25 Anys en Directe" marking milestones in their extensive discography. Their final recorded work, "Al Tall Per Sempre. Últim Concert," showcases an unwavering legacy, rounding off their career with an air of celebration and a lasting homage to their cultural roots. Though they disbanded, Al Tall's influence on Valencian music and the folk revival movement in Spain lingers through their enduring recordings and the generations of musicians they inspired.
