DRAIN DOWN is a hardcore/thrash metal band from Freiburg, Germany, formed in January 2018. Their music is a potent blend of thrash metal and hardcore punk, with socially conscious lyrics that reflect on the decline of modern society. They made a strong entrance with their 2018 EP *Use Your Brain* and followed it up with their full-length debut *Defiance* in 2021. Known for their energetic European tours, including supporting The Exploited, they've continued to build momentum with albums like *Toxic Society* (2024) and *Mental Pollution* (2025). Musically and lyrically, the band has evolved steadily, with guitarist Heiko stepping up as lead vocalist to bring even more intensity to their raw, aggressive sound.
Their songs tackle themes such as societal decay and corruption, clearly reflecting the band’s name and mission. DRAIN DOWN’s fierce live performances and commitment to addressing real-world issues have earned them a growing fanbase in the hardcore and metal scenes across Europe.
