Lord Belial

Lord Belial is a Swedish black metal band hailed for their melodic yet ferocious style, merging darkness with an unmistakable sense of melody. Formed in 1992 by guitarist and vocalist Thomas Backelin, guitarist Anders Backelin, bassist Micke Backelin, and keyboardist Sin, the band quickly emerged as one of the forces in the Scandinavian black metal scene. Their music is characterized by its aggressive guitar work, atmospheric keyboards, and grimly poetic lyrics, often exploring themes of satanism, darkness, and the occult.

Over the following years, Lord Belial has released a series of albums that cemented their status within the black metal community. Their debut "Kiss The Goat" (1995) set a sinister tone for their career, which they expanded upon with the highly acclaimed "Enter the Moonlight Gate" (1997). While they have undergone a few lineup changes and hiatuses, Lord Belial continued to offer their raw and unrelenting sound with albums such as "Unholy Crusade" (1999) and "Angelgrinder" (2002). After a significant break, the band came back with new material like "Wrath of Belial" and the relentless assault of "Rapture." Lord Belial remains a significant and influential entity within the black metal realm, unyielding in their sonic pursuit of the darkest musical tapestries.
