Jan "Kyks" Skrzek was a talented Polish blues musician and composer, born on November 21, 1953, in Siemianowice Śląskie. He was known for his skillful playing of the harmonica and piano. Skrzek began his musical career in the jazz-rock band Rak from 1973 to 1976. He also participated in projects with his older brother, Józef Skrzek, a renowned musician in his own right. Jan Skrzek was deeply involved with the cultural identity of Upper Silesia, often addressing everyday life issues in his region through his music. He was active in numerous concerts, festivals, recordings, TV programs, and films until his passing on January 29, 2015.
