The Rundfunk-Sinfonieorchester Leipzig (Leipzig Radio Symphony Orchestra) is a German orchestra based in Leipzig, Saxony. Founded in 1924 as the orchestra of the Mitteldeutscher Rundfunk (Central German Broadcasting), it has a long and distinguished history, having premiered works by composers such as Richard Strauss, Béla Bartók, and Paul Hindemith. The orchestra is known for its versatility, performing a wide range of repertoire from Baroque to contemporary music.
