Jos van Veldhoven

Jos van Veldhoven is a respected Dutch choral conductor and expert in Baroque music, known especially for his deep connection to the works of J.S. Bach. From 1983 until 2018, he served as artistic director of the Netherlands Bach Society, one of the oldest and most esteemed ensembles dedicated to historically informed performance. Under his leadership, the group earned international acclaim for its lively and precise interpretations of Baroque masterpieces, including Bach’s St. Matthew Passion, Mass in B Minor, and many lesser-known cantatas.

Van Veldhoven has a knack for bringing centuries-old music to life with a vibrant and fresh approach. Beyond the Bach Society, he's collaborated with leading period-instrument ensembles and has been a frequent presence at major European festivals.
