László Marosi

László Marosi is a distinguished Hungarian conductor born in Sárvár, Hungary, whose musical journey began at the tender age of five. He studied piano and trombone extensively at the Music Gymnasium and later pursued conducting at the Liszt Academy of Music under the mentorship of Tamas Breitner. Marosi's career includes a significant tenure as the conductor of the Hungarian Central Army Band from 1982 to 1997, during which he championed contemporary Hungarian wind music by commissioning and premiering new works, as well as recording important pieces by Liszt and other Hungarian composers. He is also an accomplished author, having published *The History of the Military Music in Hungary from 1741-1945* in 2011.

Beyond Hungary, Marosi’s reputation as a conductor’s conductor has earned him engagements across Europe, Asia, Africa, Australia, and the Americas. He has received numerous prestigious awards, including the Artisjus prize, the Roger Bobo Award by the International Tuba and Euphonium Association, and the Peace Ambassador Award from UNESCO, highlighting his commitment to using music as a universal language of peace. Marosi is also a respected professor at the University of Central Florida, where his passionate and engaging teaching style has inspired many students.
