Afghan Haze

Afghan Haze is a stoner/doom band from Connecticut, formed in 2018 by drummer Afghan Randall, guitarist Jon Harrison, bassist Erik Barrett, and vocalist Jon Mlyniec. The band is known for their intense sound, which they describe as "Booze Metal," reflecting their energetic and heavy style. They have shared stages with notable bands like Goatwhore and Crowbar. Their discography includes the EP "Burnt Offerings" (2019), the debut album "Nihilistic Stoner Hymns" (2021), and the sophomore album "Hallucinations of a Heretic" (2022). The band experienced a significant lineup change with the passing of drummer Afghan Randall before the release of "Hallucinations of a Heretic," but they continued with Paul Litewka joining on drums. Recently, they have released singles like "Bound and Gagged" (2024) as they continue to create new music and perform live.

In recent years, Afghan Haze has been working on new material, aiming to release another full-length album. Despite the challenges faced, the band's dedication to their music and their community has kept them going. Their music is a testament to the enduring spirit of heavy music and the tight-knit community that supports it. Afghan Haze is celebrated for their dynamic sound, which blends elements of sludge, doom, and stoner metal, creating a unique sonic experience for listeners.
