Marcel Pavel is a celebrated Romanian folk and pop singer born on December 4, 1959, in Galați County, Romania. He first rose to fame with his hit "Frumoasa mea," written by Ovidiu Komornyc, which brought him significant acclaim and earned him platinum sales. Known for his passionate and expressive vocals, Marcel has topped the Romanian charts multiple times and was honored as Romania's best male voice in 2002. That same year, he gained international recognition when he represented Romania in the Eurovision Song Contest alongside Monica Anghel with the song "Tell me why," achieving the country's best-ever placement at the time, ninth place. Over his career, he has released several albums, including "Te vreau langa mine," and continues to blend traditional Romanian music with contemporary styles.

Marcel Pavel has toured widely across Europe and beyond, reaching audiences in countries such as Holland, Germany, Italy, France, the United States, and more. Besides his singing career, he has also lent his voice to dubbing the singing part of Claude Frollo in the Romanian version of Disney’s *The Hunchback of Notre Dame*.
