**Ensemble Aisthesis** is a dynamic contemporary music ensemble founded in 1992 by artistic director Walter Nußbaum, hailing from Heidelberg and linked to the KlangForum Heidelberg. With up to 20 instrumentalists, they dive deep into 20th- and 21st-century sounds, from modern classics by Schoenberg, Webern, Boulez, Stockhausen, and Lachenmann to fresh commissions and even forward-looking takes on Wagner or Mahler—plus holiday nods to ancient music with their aisthesis consort.
They shine in close collabs, like with Schola Heidelberg on projects such as *Nuits – weiß wie Lilien*, and have rocked festivals from Munich's musica viva to South Korea's Tongyeong International Music Festival. Their discography pops with gems like *Ethica* (2025), *Parole e testi* (2020), *Leibowitz: Musique de Chambre* (2013), and *20th Century Choral Music* (2001), spotlighting composers from René Leibowitz to Helmut Lachenmann.
