Cajmere
Cajmere is the alias of Chicago house music producer Curtis Jones, who is also widely known under his other moniker, Green Velvet. As Cajmere, Jones emerged in the early 1990s as a key figure in the second wave of Chicago house, blending classic house rhythms with an underground, club-ready edge. One of his biggest early hits, “Brighter Days” featuring Dajae, became an enduring anthem in the genre and helped cement his place in house music history.
With his Cajmere project, Jones has consistently delivered infectious grooves that straddle the worlds of soulful house and raw, dancefloor-driven beats. He also founded the influential Cajual Records label, which has been an important platform for emerging and established house artists alike. Whether through original releases or remixes, Cajmere’s impact on the global house scene continues to resonate with both longtime fans and a new generation of electronic music lovers.
