Tally Hall

Formed in 2002, Tally Hall is an American rock band hailing from Ann Arbor, Michigan. Known for their distinctive style, which melds an eclectic mix of rock, pop, and experimental sounds with harmony-laden vocals, the group quickly developed a cult following. The band's core members include Rob Cantor (vocals, guitar), Joe Hawley (vocals, guitar), Ross Federman (drums), Andrew Horowitz (vocals, keyboards), and Zubin Sedghi (vocals, bass). Tally Hall is recognized not only for their musical versatility but also for their visually distinctive attire – matching white shirts with black ties and colored ties that match their respective "band colors."

Their debut studio album, "Marvin's Marvelous Mechanical Museum," originally released in 2005 and later re-released in 2008, is a playful mix of whimsical narratives and quirky lyrics wrapped in inventive instrumentation. They followed up this success with "Good & Evil" in 2011, an album that matured their sound while retaining their unique, off-center charm. While Tally Hall has not released new music together since "Good & Evil,” individual members have pursued solo projects and collaborations that further reflect their wide-ranging talents. Their cover of the 1989 Biz Markie hit "Just a Friend" remains a testament to their ability to revamp classic tunes with their own idiosyncratic twist. Although the band has been largely inactive, the members' shared affection for musical adventure endures, and their albums remain cherished artifacts within indie and alternative circles.
